We’re about to see Earth’s magnetic shield like never before

ESA is preparing to provide an unprecedented view of Earth’s magnetic shield. The upcoming observation will be unlike any previous imaging of the magnetosphere and will deliver new insights into the structure and dynamics of the magnetic field. Data from the effort are expected to improve understanding of how the shield responds to solar activity. The capability will set a new standard for magnetospheric research.
